Running a frame shop is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s a passion. I grew up in Kenosha and came to Madison as a student. After earning my B.A., I moved to San Francisco and was awarded a Masters in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute. While in school, I ran the frame shop for several national galleries and discovered my calling.
I lived in San Fransisco for a 14 years and that’s where I met my wife and began my family. Like many, Madison lured me home.
In 2005, I made the leap from employee to owner and opened Douglas Art & Frame. I have a vision for quality craftsmanship and the support of the artistic community that I work to refine every day. My family and I make our home not far from my shop in the Shorewood Plaza.
